Christies Beach High School

Through innovative design and careful environmental considerations the Sustainable Learning Centre is a 10 star green star, zero energy rated building, with low carbon emissions. This project offered a rare opportunity for AREA Construction to prove its ability to provide sustainable building at a world class level. The $1.5 million project was designed and constructed within 10 months.

The centre features; hydronic underfloor heating, compounded earth walls and trombe walls, continuous underfloor cooling, and a rotaloo system. The unique design of this building threw up a vast array of challenges for those involved; as such the design of the building was constantly evolving throughout the entire construction period.
